TUSC Spring Fling Weekend is hosted the last weekend of the spring semester each year. This year's events include a movie night, outdoor barbecue, and the grand finale Spring Fling Concert. The concert, a 6k person outdoor show, will feature an opening performance by Group Love and a Headline Featuring Zara Larsson

Green Dot resources and trained staff will be present throughout the weekend. If you or a friend are in need of support, you can connect with Green Dot ambassadors, Spring Fling volunteers, or TUPD. Green Dot certified staff will be wearing their green lanyards. Green Dot representatives will be stationed at the Chill Zone in front of Ballou for the duration of the event.  

  • Remember, a crowd does not equal consent 

  • Ask before you dance with someone! 

  • Get permission before taking someone’s photo 

  • Don’t pressure someone into giving their consent  → “Pressured or hesitant agreement is NOT consent.”

Know Before the Show

Admission 

ID Required:  

  • All attendees must have a valid Tufts student ID 

  • Security Screenings: 

  • All concertgoers will be subject to security screening, including metal detectors.  

  • Staff and security reserve the right to inspect and/or refuse the admittance of any person or item. 

  • Visibly intoxicated students will not be admitted into the event. 

Entrance:  

  • Entrance gates are located in front of West Hall. The line will begin at Olin Hall and run down Packard Ave towards Professors Row.   

  • Outside beverage containers are not permitted in the line or in the venue.   

  • Gates close promptly at 2:30 p.m. 

Graduate Student Entry:  

  • Graduate student tickets will be scanned at the entrance, Names on the ticket AND scanner MUST match the name on your Tufts Student ID. Tickets are non-transferrable. 

  • Once at the entrance, please follow signage for the Graduate Student entrance 

  • There is no re-entry into the show. No exceptions. 

List of Prohibited Items

  • Bags, including wristlets and fanny packs 

  • Outside food, beverages, or containers (including water bottles) 

  • Alcohol or any other substance 

  • Vapes/pens/carts and cigarettes 

  • Umbrellas 

  • Audio or video equipment including drones 

  • Selfie sticks 

  • Throwing objects (e.g. footballs, frisbees, etc.) 

  • Lawn chairs or furniture of any kind 

  • Lasers 

  • Pets 

  • Skateboards and rollerblades 

  • Weapons of any kind, including squirt guns ​

Confiscated items may be disposed at the discretion of Spring Fling staff. TUSC & Tufts University are not responsible for items left unattended.

Bag Policy 

  • External bags are not permitted in the venue. This includes wristlets and fanny packs.  

  • Arrange medical accommodations with OCL by contacting ocl@tufts.edu 

Food & Beverages:

  • No outside food, beverages, or containers (including water bottles) are permitted in the venue OR in the ticketing line. No exceptions. Spring Fling staff reserve the right to confiscate and dispose of prohibited items. 

  • If you have a food allergy and have an accommodation through the StAAR Center, you may contact the Office for Campus Life at ocl@tufts.edu to make alternative arrangements by Wednesday, April 22nd. 

Expected Behavior

  • ​All Tufts University policies and standards of behavior outline in the Student Code of Conduct will be strictly enforced. 

  • All staff, including TUSC members, have the authority to remove attendees from the event when behavior is deemed inappropriate and in violation of these rules and/or the Student Code of Conduct

  • Visibly intoxicated students will not be admitted into the event. This is a substance free event. 

  • This is a no smoke and vape event

  • Please dispose of any trash in the proper receptacles located throughout the venue

  • All event attendees are expected to behave with respect and kindness. They must comply with all instructions given by members of the security team, TUSC, OCL Event Staff, Student Life and TUPD

Venue Expectations 

  • This is a substance free event 

  • Visibly intoxicated students will not be admitted into the event.  

  • Please dispose of any trash in the trash cans located throughout the venue. 

  • All Tufts University policies and standards of behavior outlined in the Student Code of Conduct will be strictly enforced. 

  • Students violating any laws or university policies will be immediately removed and subject to disciplinary action.
